The Old Stone House, Pizza and Gelato

This has been a full on, productive, work filled week! In the midst of loads of planning, moving classroom furniture, quick visits with cousin, sister, friends... I missed a very important milestone. On September 1st,  a.l.o.e. i love had it's one year anniversary!!!

I made the commitment to try out this blogging thing for a year, and let me tell you there were times when I didn't want to put in the time (and boy does this take time, especially when you don't really know what you're doing), but I am still here and apparently I have more to say and more to share :)

So I leave you with a perfect afternoon in Brooklyn and a few of my favorite spots.

a.l.o.e. in the classroom

A.l.o.e. in the classroom has arrived! It's a blog dedicated to my teaching and learning adventures. You can visit a.l.o.e. in the classroom here

How will I manage teaching and posting regularly on two blogs you ask??? I have no idea. Hahaha. My thoughts are, a lot of planning (as usual), less tv (except for Downton Abbey and other Masterpiece classics... and maybe a Housewife of some city every once in a while), definitely little or no travel for a while... We will see. Where there's a will there's a way, One day at a time, Reach for the stars, ... and all that other good stuff :)

I leave you with the last days of summer in Brooklyn. x

Frida, The New York Botanical Garden & My New iphone 6!

There's nothing like visitors to get your butt out of the house, to places you have never been to in your own city!

My new iphone 6 and I had our first visit to The New York Botanical Garden last week :)

New Exhibitions at The Brooklyn Museum

We have a lovely friend visiting from London this week, and of course I had to take her to one of my favorite places. She actually suggested going and pointed out a couple of new exhibitions; one called The Rise of Sneaker Culture and the other FAILE: Savage/Sacred Young Minds. Both were worth the visit.

Here's a peak at FAILE: Savage/Sacred Young Minds. Enjoy :)

Artists & Craftsman Supply

Artists & Cratsmen Supply opened their doors in Park Slope, Brooklyn, a little over a year ago. It is located very close to my school and let me tell you, it is a dangerous, dangerous place.

The store is housed in a large warehouse and this is only a fraction of what is available! For more store locations, go here.
